Much like bad weather hit the north-west the prior day, Manchester City overwhelmed United aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement 3-0 win for their manager's side thanks to goals from Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their championship potential as they consolidated their position at the league summit.

Back-to-Back Defeats for Manchester United

This outcome signalled back-to-back Women's Super League setbacks for Skinner's side for the first time since May 2024, putting them seven points off the league leaders with their title hopes hanging by a thread.

The Red Devils' capability to juggle league and continental football with a thin squad has been a frequently analyzed subject since they earned a place in the UCL.
